Welcoming Liam Deards

New UK Sales and Specification Director

We’re pleased to welcome Liam as the new UK Sales and Specification Director at Filix. With over 20 years of experience in the lighting industry, Liam brings a deep understanding of lighting applications, product integration, and project delivery across various sectors.

Throughout his career, Liam has built a reputation for aligning technical solutions with creative design intent—especially in the world of exterior lighting. His ability to adapt to evolving technologies, emerging design trends, and changing regulatory standards has earned him trust across the UK lighting design community. Having worked on a wide range of high-profile projects, he understands what it takes to deliver long-term value in complex architectural environments.

“I’m excited to be joining Filix,” Liam shares. “Having spent most of my career in exterior lighting, I feel like I’m back where I belong. There’s something unique about exterior work—it requires a careful balance of technical resilience and visual quality, and that’s exactly what Filix delivers.”

Liam has long admired Filix’s portfolio of architectural and urban solutions, particularly the brand’s dedication to designing products for the harshest outdoor conditions. “Filix combines design precision with technical excellence. You can tell that every product is grounded in years of engineering experience—whether it’s for underwater, façade, or public realm applications.”

In his new role, Liam will focus on strengthening Filix’s presence in the UK, nurturing relationships with existing partners, and opening new conversations across sectors. His aim is to further integrate Filix’s exterior lighting range into high-spec urban, architectural, and landscape projects, while also supporting design professionals in identifying the right solutions for complex briefs.

When he’s not working with lighting professionals or onsite with project teams, Liam enjoys life outdoors. He’s a keen skier, golfer, and explorer at heart. A husband and father to a young daughter, he describes family time as his grounding force and the reason behind everything he does. “My perfect day off? Somewhere coastal, good food, a glass of wine, and time with the people I love.”
